Key Personnel

Our Team

The Pump Shop at MME is led by a team of degreed mechanical and manufacturing engineers who use their expertise to design, construct and service custom fluid distribution systems for booster stations, sewage and water treatment facilities, industrial applications, building heating and cooling systems, etc.

Our key personnel are listed below. Contact us with your questions, concepts, problems and goals. Then let us help you find the solutions you need.

Bob Korb, Senior Vice President

As past president of three companies, including Missouri Machinery & Engineering, Bob has been involved in planning and operational management, project management, and sales and marketing. He currently manages The Pump Shop at MME’s pump sales and marketing.

“During the last 20 years at MME, I have been involved in many fluid distribution projects. If it’s a fluid, we can find a pump for any application,” Bob says. “Each pumping system is designed to use not only a pump, but also a motor to drive the pump, and usually other accessory parts such as stainless steel guide rails and chain, ductile iron piping and a concrete vault.”

One of the most challenging projects Bob has worked on was a system that required a 20-inch diameter pipe to contain 103,000 pounds of axial thrust. “To address this unusual situation, we designed an application that would allow the pipe to expand and contract up to an inch-and-a-half underground. The pipe’s been moving as needed since 1995.”

Bob is a graduate of Purdue University with a degree in mechanical engineering. He also holds an MBA from Dayton University.

Jim Guess, Service Manager

Jim has more than 35 years of technical experience with fluid distribution systems, quality and inventory control.  As service manager, he leads a team of highly qualified personnel who provide the perfect finished product and unsurpassed customer service.

A keystone in the operations of The Pump Shop at MME, Jim has helped build the company into what it is today.  He’s only a phone call away and eager to help solve your system problems with the newest technology available.

John (J.D.) Wickert, Assistant Service Manager

John, who joined The Pump Shop at MME in 1996 as a field serviceman and became an assistant service manager in 2004, has nearly 20 years of hands-on mechanical experience as a motor mechanic and engineer in the aerosol business.

Over the years, John has been involved in every part of pump repair and service applications. His expertise includes installing and troubleshooting variable frequency drives for pumping projects.

As a vital part of his work at The Pump Shop at MME, John has worked with numerous government agencies. He takes pride in having learned the unique requirements involved and bringing that expertise to his work with all MME clients as well as on government contracts.

Donna Allgire, Pump Systems Consultant

Donna, who joined The Pump Shop at MME in 2006, has more than 20 years of customer service and sales experience, with the last decade dedicated to both the industrial and municipal pump markets. Donna’s inside-sales position brings challenges each day, from preparing estimates for customers to assisting outside salesmen, as well as working with the service department.

Donna holds an associate of arts degree from Southwestern Illinois College.

Bill Burris, Pump Systems Consultant

Based in Rolla, Mo., Bill has more than 17 years of experience in service and installation of HVAC and municipal equipment, including pumps, boilers, heat exchangers, air handlers, valves and control panels.

Bill attended college in Phoenix and holds an associate’s degree in applied science.

Robert Clynes, Pump Systems Consultant

Robert has more than 33 years of pump system experience, including serving as district manager for Allis Chalmers, Goulds and Crane-Deming Pumps.  His background includes sales of pumps and parts; handling pump problems and solutions; service, engineering and design of pump systems; and  setting up and managing representatives and distributors.  In addition, Robert has set up and operated two distributorships for pumps and related equipment.

“What I enjoy most about my job as a pump systems consultant is going in to customers who have problems, solving those problems and giving them pumps that will work and last,” he says.

Robert holds an MBA from Washington University and a bachelor of science degree in civil engineering from the University of Missouri-Rolla.

Gary Hillis, Pump Systems Consultant

Gary is a retired U.S. Army chief warrant officer whose final years in the military were spent managing large, heavy-equipment maintenance facilities. This experience gave him the expertise to set up the initial functional-service department at The Pump Shop at MME, which he joined in 1978. Gary held the position of service manager for 12 years before moving to his current role in the inside-sales department.

As a pump systems consultant, Gary handles pump and repair parts sales directly with customers. He also is responsible for coordinating new pump and pump-system applications.

Gary takes pride in the fact that The Pump Shop at MME was selected as a Master Stocking Distributor for a major manufacturer several years ago and has maintained this niche, setting the firm apart from competitors. “This project has been successful far beyond all expectations, helping us provide exceptional service to our clients,” Gary says.

Craig Miller, Pump Systems Consultant

Craig, who joined The Pump Shop at MME in 2008, has over 11 years of industrial sales experience, including serving as an account manager for a major industrial pipe, valve, fittings and plumbing-supply distributor.

Craig says that one of the more interesting jobs he has worked on for The Pump Shop at MME involved the Casino Queen on the St. Louis waterfront. “The Casino Queen’s hotel city water booster system was experiencing issues with the control valves on the system maintaining pressure on the top floor,” he says. “Our solution was to remove all of the control valves and replace them with variable-speed frequency drives. Not only was this an energy-cost savings, but it also eliminated all of the mechanical valves in the system, which were at the root of the problem.”

Craig holds a bachelor of science degree from Eastern Michigan University.

Al Williams, Pump Systems Consultant

Al, who joined The Pump Shop at MME in 1997, has 20 years experience in design and drafting as well as the consulting-engineering and manufacturing fields. His background also includes extensive experience in sales and service of progressing-cavity pumps and systems.

Al’s responsibilities include new pump sales, pump-repair sales, complete sewage lift-station sales and lift-station rehab/replace/repair sales, including design, equipment specification and purchasing. He also is in charge of field supervision of new and repaired lift stations. In addition, Al coordinates evaluating and estimating for repair or construction work on major drainage and levee district pumps.

Al attended the Missouri School of Mines and Metallurgy in Rolla, Mo. .
